GT Radial Treasure Hunt 2009 was held in Surabaya on June 7th 2009. With more than 250 cars participating in this event, the GT Radial Treasure Hunt 2009 was held in cooperation with the tourism board of East Java. It is for the first time that this event was held outside Jakarta. The participants, coming not only from Surabaya but also from surrounding cities like Malang and Gresik, were guided to visit some of the heritage places of Surabaya like the Buddha statue in Kenjeran, Hindu’s Temple Jagad Karana in North Surabaya and most interestingly the Monumen Jalesveva Jayamahe (Monjaya) in the East Indonesia Naval Base in Perak – which usually closed for public. The event was opened by the Head of the tourism board of East Java together with the representative from local Surabaya Municipal and Police Department. Overall the GT Radial Treasure Hunt 2009 really lived up its name as the fun and family rally as all participants enjoyed themselves throughout the day and left with a good memory of the event and GT Radial.
