The health activities programs focuses on HIV/AIDS and drugs prevention as well as reducing child mortality. The Company has pro-actively collaborated with Yayasan Kusuma Buana, an NGO specializing in prevention of HIV/AIDS, to launch a programme evolving around compulsory HIV/AIDS prevention training of its employees by peer educators. In May 2004, the Company received an award from the Indonesian government and International Labour Organization (ILO) for its concern and commitment towards the HIV/AIDS prevention in the workplace. In 2007, Gajah Tunggal became founding member of the Indonesian Business Coalition on Aids (IBCA). This coalition aims to combat HIV/AIDS through the private sector, by the delivery of effective workplace programs that focus on awareness and prevention.In 2007, the Company received prestigious recognition for its commitment to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, specifically the efforts of the Company to combat child mortality handed out by Metro TV and endorsed by the United Nations. Around 1 million immunizations shots have been administered to infants and children in the GT Industrial complex and its surrounding community over the decades. By sponsoring anti-drugs events in cooperation with Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB), such as the Lights On in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, the Company also hopes to protect our loved ones from the temptations of drugs abuse.
